About the LDO

Providing a Place for Law Department Operations

The Law Department Operations Survey was first created to give legal departments a consistent platform to benchmark themselves and shed light on the emerging profession of law department management.

Gauging the impact, trends and priorities of 21st century law department operations is the purpose of The Law Department Operations Survey and this online portal. Now in its seventh year, this unique survey focuses solely on the operations function and seeks to provide benchmarks that are useful to the largest law departments.

The yearly survey is created and supervised by InsideCounsel and Blickstein Group, in cooperation with Huron Legal. The advisory board, headed by David Cambria, Global Director of Operations - Law, Compliance and Government Relations, Archer Daniels Midland Company consists of LDOs from Fortune 300 companies and consults on the survey. Huron Legal has contributed as the name sponsor since the inaugural survey. This year's gold sponsors are Bridgeway, Serengeti, a Thomson Reuters business and Datacert | Tymetrix. This year's silver sponsor is Mitratech.
